The House of Christian Lacroix Spring-Summer 2017 collection gives pride of place to enlightened eclecticism and exoticism. Each richly decorated notebook is an invitation for a voyage of discovery to enjoy different styles, eras and destinations. From fascinating still lifes to an imaginary jungle, each different decor ensures we want to see what happens next.
The collection’s centrepiece is the big "Curiosités" notebook, which depicts a cabinet of curiosities, whose treasures we discover as we turn the pages, which, lacy or transparent, reveal a strange bestiary that resembles nothing so much as a secret garden. Far more than just a notebook, this is a whole new world!
We continue our journey onward until we reach a dream country whose landscape resembles a new take on Toile de Jouy: a black and white design broken up by just a few green leaves and the markings of a giraffe, delicately highlighted with touches of silver.
Meanwhile the iconic Paseo motif, in its Neon dip-dye version and, as always, embossed when used for stationery, is to be found embellishing both elegant correspondence cards offered in a matching box and a series of notebooks in delicately powder pink “Blush”.
Lastly, in “Mascarade”, available in three formats and three monochrome tints, the embossed Paseo design is hidden beneath a mosaic of coloured diamonds, inspired by a certain well- known character of the Commedia dell’Arte. And “bleu Outremer” takes over as the perfect colour to decorate our favourite notebook for the summer season.
