The Christian Lacroix house
Since the creation of the fashion house in 1987 by the LVMH Group, Christian Lacroix, its first Artistic Director, laid the foundations of a unique, exuberant, colorful, and baroque style, rooted in the designer's birthplace of Arles. His Spanish inspirations, vibrant colors, and innovative shapes imbued with theatricality captivated the fashion world, bringing a breath of fresh air to the industry. Quickly, his creations, such as the "pouf" skirt, were worn by the biggest international stars, including Madonna, Julianne Moore, and Uma Thurman. The collections traveled the world, and the most influential fashion editors lent him their support.
The fashion house grew with its first ready-to-wear creations in 1988, which embraced the codes and inspirations of Haute Couture, followed by perfumes and accessories. The opening of boutiques followed one after the other, pushing the brand towards international development and recognition. Contemporary ready-to-wear lines, such as Bazar and Christian Lacroix Jeans, followed, driven by a more everyday collection approach, with the launch of perfumes in harmony with these lines. Today, under new artistic direction since 2010, the Christian Lacroix brand is sold in more than 5,500 points of sale worldwide, with its fashion collections including leather goods, watches, jewelry, eyewear, scarves, ties, and perfume, as well as its Art de Vivre collections such as upholstery fabrics, wallpapers, cushions, rugs, and tableware. The Christian Lacroix Maison is resolutely modern, focused on a future where its codes are constantly revisited, and its heritage elevated.
